Because fixed-price software quoted without discovery is guesswork, and guesswork produces either a padded price or a project that runs out of money halfway through. Discovery gives you a real specification and a real number — and the fee is credited against the build if you proceed.
Do we own the code?
Yes, entirely, along with documentation and deployment instructions.
Should we build or buy?
Often you should buy. If an off-the-shelf product fits ninety per cent of your process, we will usually recommend implementing that and building only the gap. We would rather tell you that than sell you something you do not need.
How do you handle changes mid-project?
